Open the app

The InstantNode login page opens in its own window, so your password, passkeys, Discord, Google and two-factor all work exactly as they do on the site.

It takes a token

Once you are in, the app creates a personal API token named after your computer and closes the session. You can revoke it any time under Profile.

Updates on its own

The app checks for a new version when it starts and every few hours, and tells you when one is ready.

Direct connections

The terminal and file browser connect straight from your computer to your server. Your credentials are never sent anywhere else.

Why does Windows show a SmartScreen warning?
The Windows build is not code-signed yet, so SmartScreen warns the first time. Choose More info and then Run anyway. Every file's SHA-256 checksum is listed with the downloads if you want to verify it.
Installer or portable - which one should I take?
The installer adds a Start menu entry and a desktop shortcut, and it uninstalls cleanly. No admin rights needed. The portable build unpacks itself on every start, so the first window takes a moment to appear. Nothing is written to Program Files or the registry.
Are my passwords or keys sent anywhere?
No. The terminal and file browser connect straight from your computer to your server. Your credentials are never sent anywhere else, and the app keeps its personal API token encrypted by your operating system.
What does INN Connect cost?
Nothing. An account is all you need. INN Connect is free and works with every InstantNode service.
How do I sign the app out of my account?
The app signs in with a personal API token named after your computer. Revoke it any time under Profile in the client panel.
